IT Project Manager

Position Summary/Overview:

The IT Project Manager is responsible for the overall direction, execution, control and completion of assigned Information Systems-related projects while ensuring consistency with strategic goals and overseeing the full project lifecycle. This position requires authority to lead project team members to accomplish project objectives, including cross-functional groups and vendors (as appropriate).


  • Set and manage expectations with project stakeholders
  • Serve as primary contact for project sponsor and client department
  • Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals, milestones, deliverables, detailed tasks and resource requirements
  • Create and maintain project schedules and project budget
  • Assemble and coordinate project resources
  • Clearly convey deadlines and project decisions to all involved in the project and act as the main source for all project information, working closely with other members of the PMO and the Director, Project Management Office
  • Assess and manage risk
  • Monitor and report project progress to stakeholders
  • Track and coordinate the resolution of project-related issues in a timely manner, escalate as appropriate
  • Work closely with the business analyst to ensure proper project scoping, requirements gathering, and specification determination
  • Develop and/or improve existing PMO templates and processes; consistently look for ways to improve internal processes to facilitate better project outcomes

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years Information Technology project management experience; PMP certification preferred
  • Experience with deadlines, time management, and job follow-through
  • Ability to get things done independently and with others, and to remain levelheaded and composed during hectic periods
  • Exposure to, and understanding of, a wide variety of information technology systems and services; ability to learn new software quickly required
  • Quality driven; highly motivated; attention to detail and accuracy
  • Flexibility; open to challenges; skilled at working on several projects simultaneously
